Colorful Nature

Published by travelwithme at 12:38 pm under Bhutan Edit This

Bhutan takes pride in its rich natural environment and cultural heritage. In order to safeguard these riches, Bhutan has consciously adopted a controlled tourism policy. As such, there is a check on the number of tourists visiting the country each year, with the figure being around 21,000 in 2008. From the economic viewpoint, this may not seem to be a wise measure, as tourism contributes substantially to the country’s economy. However, this policy being directed at protecting the environmental beauty and riches, has been acclaimed at different quarters.

Once into Bhutan, you can feast your eyes on nature in all its splendor. The white snow covering the purple-headed mountains, the orchids of myriad hues interspersed with the green vegetation, the white clouds floating in the blue sky, to go with the bright attire of the Bhutanese people and their festivities immerse the touring guests in a dash of color.

Kayaking down the youthful rivers and trekking up undulating valleys between the towering mountains can be an experience of a lifetime.
